How Windows 7 has made me happier using my computer

Today while using my Alienware laptop, the Action center flag appeared in the tray next to the clock. (Circled in red)

Upon click the flag I was greeted with small popup stating that there was 1 message regarding my system.
I click the message entitled ‘Install your video card driver’, which then carried me to another dialog telling me that a newer version of the driver for my Nvidia 8700 GT was available.

The dialog offered me a link the the manufactures website to download the new software. At this point I though, great now I will have to find it on the site.
To my suprise, Windows did not offer me a link to Nvidia’s site, but rather a direct link to the download from Nvidia’s site. Clicking the link simply downloaded the new driver to my desktop (my choice).

The best part of it was, I double clicked the newly downloaded file, and the wizard did the rest. Upon completing the installation, no restart was required.
That’s right NO  restart was required.
Windows simply reset the graphics device, causing my screen to go blank for about 1 second and that was it.. done..

Now tell me that’s not how it should be. That’s class..

By the way, the image above I created using the application built in to Windows 7 called ‘Snipping Tool’. No other software was required.

I’m a PC, and I’m loving 7..
